I found Godless to be a visually stunning and atmospheric Western that brings a fresh perspective to the genre by centering its story on a town populated almost entirely by women. Following the aftermath of a mining disaster, the series builds a slow-burning tension as the town of La Belle prepares for an inevitable confrontation with a ruthless outlaw gang. I was particularly impressed by the sweeping cinematography and the deliberate pacing, which captures both the beauty and the harsh isolation of the New Mexico frontier.

The performances are excellent, with a strong ensemble cast that gives the residents of La Belle a sense of grit and quiet resilience. While the narrative occasionally leans into traditional Western tropes—including the classic "mysterious stranger" archetype—the focus on female community and survival adds a compelling layer of depth to the story. I felt that the central villain was a bit of a stylized caricature at times, but the final standoff is expertly choreographed and highly satisfying. It is a well-crafted miniseries that balances character-driven drama with the rugged aesthetics of a classic frontier tale. For fans of the genre looking for a modern, polished take on the Old West, it is a very solid watch.
